Former finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala stated that Nigeria is currently facing economic hardship because there was no political willpower to save during the Goodluck Jonathan administration
According to the finance minister, during Obasanjo’s administration, the political willpower to save was there but during her second time as Minister of Finance during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, there was zero willpower to save.
She stated this at a function held in Abuja recently.
During the Jonathan’s administration, there was adequate funds to fund the economy but due to misappropriation of funds, embezzlement and other corrupt practices, the country’s treasury became empty.
