WHY YOU NEED TO BE SELF EMPLOYED

Why you need to be self employed

10 reasons you need to be self employed

Self-employed is a situation in which an individual works for himself instead of working for an employer that pays a salary or a wage. A self-employed individual earns his income through conducting profitable operations from a trade or business that he operates directly.

1. YOU ARE YOUR OWN BOSS Independence, control and freedom from routine - Companies or individuals you work for are your clients, not your employers. ... But you are your own boss - you decide when, where and how to work to get the job done. Financial rewards - A business may become very profitable.

2.Choose Your Path - related to the benefit of being your own boss is the reality that as a self- employed person, you choose the path or direction for your work. You have decision-making authority over the nature of your business, the activities and projects that you engage in and the clients and customers you work with. You can also set or change your policies. In essence, you only have yourself to complain to if you don't like the work environment.

3. Flexibility - A huge draw for self employment is flexibility. With no boss, you can set your own schedule. This makes it easier to participate in family activities or attend your children's school events. If you provide services, you can work during hours that best fit your schedule and work habits. You also get to choose where you work. If you run a store, you naturally work at the business. Otherwise, you can work out of an office or from home.

 4. You get to feel the enormous sense of pride and personal satisfaction when your business is successful, when your business has a good reputation, and when the business grows.

 5. You’re more valued.
As a freelancer, you’re no longer part of the hive; you’re a highly-valued individual. More importantly, you get to decide what that value is, through a
well-devised proposal like this one. You get credit for your own work. And, through your ongoing marketing efforts, you’ve even started to earn some name recognition, not just among your long-time clients, but from complete strangers as well.

 6. It is your time and hence your schedule: You know yourself best and would love to have the flexibility of working based on your time rather than the time set by someone else. If you are not a morning person, then you set your schedule based on when you get back and work with an extra zeal and focus. You can ensure that you are able to connect with everyone on your project rather than missing a meeting because you got up late! It is your schedule hence, making you more responsible regarding your planned day!

 7. You spend less.
When was the last time you were stuck in traffic on your way to work? If you perform your professional duties from a home office, it’s most likely been a very, very long time. (And, no, waiting in line for the bathroom for your morning shower doesn’t count).Think of all the money on gas you’ve been saving. Even if you work outside of your home, as someone who’s self-employed, you were able to choose the location. And I’d be willing to bet you chose somewhere that nixed the lengthy commute. Child care expenses may also be a thing of the past for you. Along with expensive daily lunches “out” because of your distinct distrust of the office fridge.

8. No co-worker drama- Many of us work alone (or work remotely) and that isolation can be a bit daunting at times. But do you really, honestly, miss your co-workers? Even the one who listened to her music sans headphones? What about the guy who loved to talk (loudly) on his cell phone during his breaks…right next to you? Or how about the gem of a human being who shirked all of their cleaning duties on you?Your favorite co-workers became your friends and are likely still a part of your life in that capacity. Everyone else? Good riddance!

9. No worries about the sick leave: If you are ill then you don’t have to worry about whether you would be getting your sick leave or not1. You can inform you clients regarding the health and take a day off from your work or resume few hours later. You no longer have to beg or give long explanations on why you were on leave and prove your point on the fact that you were really ill. You have the liberty to choose your own health insurance based on your needs and not what your company has decided for you.

10. Variety of projects that you can execute: When you are working in a corporate firm, your roles and responsibilities are defined and you are asked to work within a framework. The structure does not allow you to explore other options that are creative and innovative as you need to stick to the designed solution as agreed upon by the seniors and clients. Being a freelancer you can select new challenging projects pushing yourself to innovate and evolve at every step and hence, giving you the job satisfaction.
